Sound
Our initial idea for our opening was to make our our music out of basketballs bouncing and trainers squeaking after being inspired by our research of watching High School Musical. However after trying to achieve this we realised we didnt have the right sound equipment as the sound wasn't clear enough to make a beat from. Although what we wanted to achieve for our opening was harder to create than we though and wasn't achievable for us in the space of time we had and the equipment needed we have decided on our music to be quite urban to connote the basketball theme, yet happy for our comedy side of the film. We would still like to include basketball noises as long as it fits in with the rest of our music.
This is the sort of thing we wanted to achieve and had inspiration from.

Feedback
Halfway through our editing process we asked Emma for her feedback on what we had done so far. She said she liked the comedy side of it and how we have used editing techniques such as the two sets of shoes swiping across the screen in opposite directions to make it more unique and childlike. Although we had messed around with a few other ways to do this, such as trying to make the image of a basketball move as though its bouncing in time with the real life image which we realised was harder than it seemed so we didn't include this, Emma thought we should include more to create this theme and identity throughout the opening. Also we asked Emma to see if our opening seemed to stop and start a bit. Although she didn't seem to think so she gave us the advise of using our credits to break up the footage slightly.
After this feedback we are trying to create more of our editing technique and are trying to use our credits to break up the footage to try and improve our opening so far.

A childrens film
'A children's film is a film aimed for children as its audience. As opposed to a family film, no special effort is made to make the film attractive for other audiences. The film may or may not be about children'
I feel that from what we have produced so far, we have met the initial brief of a 'children's film', as we have considered what children would find entertaining, by including humorous clips in our opening, making it colourful and cheerful, also the topic basketball which is common in primary and middle schools so they could relate to it. Our transitions in the editing stage are not yet finished, but when completed the film opening should be smooth, and easy to follow.
This image is from the film 'Space Jam', another Children's basketball film, with lots of comedy.

my contributions
Contributions to the process…
I have contributed by acting in the short sequence also I have put ideas forward for the editing of the short sequence and have helped create our title and branding for our film, I also thought of the name of our film ‘Bounce Back’.
I have helped with ideas whilst filming to what we would like to capture and produce and I also brought props in to help us with the filming of our short sequence, furthermore I helped think of the first idea of our film and helped come up with the storyline to what going to happen in the rest of the film if it got filmed completely.
target audience
Target audience;
Our target audience for our film is young and teenage children also it can be a film watched with the whole family. Mainly the marketing would be for middle age boys that were interested in sport and adventure. Are target market is just all children, teenage and young children but we have focused on male because of the sporty basketball theme, which seems to interest mostly boys, we choose this because we thought this would be the biggest market opening. The film we have made wont just be for children it can be for families as well because of its easy going and humorous topics and themes. It’s for children over the age of about 10 because of its slightly mature punch lines and gags which over 10 year olds are expected to laugh at. I think it could appeal to adults too because of its humour and silliness along with a good story line and a good sense of adventure. Its mainly targeted for males because we thought the market was bigger for males in the sporting and adventure genre, that’s why we have aimed our advertising and branding more towards the male tastes.
